Welcome to the fantabulously ADHD podcast. This is a podcast for all women or those who identify as women or even anyone with ADHD. Here we will center around ADHD topics that pertain to women. However, those topics may also align with people who are not women. Today's topic is just going to be a simple introduction of welcoming you to my podcast. And we're going to be talking about things related to ADHD and executive function. So that includes planning prioritization, task management, time management, procrastination, all those things and how they affect our lives. So for those of you who don't know me, I'm Saundra Brodkin, and I am an ADHD coach. I also have a background in teaching because I was formerly a teacher and a Master's in Counselling Psychology. So there is quite a bit of background in the education sense, but what about my experience? So my experience includes working in schools, literally, of all levels, like as young as 18 months, preschoolers to PhD students in university, and literally everything in between. I started off my journey, knowing that I always wanted to help people because I struggled deeply in school. I mean, I did well academically until university, and I did so well academically, that no one realized that there were issues but I struggled on an emotional level, because I was always so anxious. And I was always felt like I was living up to the expectations of everyone. So now I’m at a place in my life where I say *beep* because it's time to explode societal expectations, and live what we feel is our undeniable truth with no apologies. So if that's who you are, and that's what you're ready to do is to live your truth. Without saying sorry, without apologizing for any challenges that you might have any mistakes, you might make all those things that suck, and say, hey, that's part of me. And maybe I need to offload some tasks. Maybe I need to create strategies, maybe I need to work with someone to help me figure this all out. If you're here to figure it all out, and you're ready to stick in that growth zone. Or you're here because you want to learn how to get into the growth zone, then you are in the right place. We are going to talk about all things related to ADHD. And the growth zone because growth zone is literally my entire mantra is every day, how am I going to grow? What am I doing right now to help me move forward? Even if I'm uncomfortable, because the most growth happens when you are uncomfortable. Another thing that we are all about in fantabulously ADHD is persistence over consistency. And what that means is routine does not mean that you have to do something every single day or in a ritualistic way, like once a week at the same day and time you do a certain task. No, I mean, yeah, of course, some things we have to like take out the garbage. And if you miss garbage day, well, your house is going to smell. But when it comes to ADHD and routine, I want to teach you how to be persistent. So that means when you fall off the train of your routine, that's okay, that's actually part of learning how to manage your ADHD perhaps that routine wasn't right for you, perhaps you need to change it, perhaps you need to adjust it or abandon it altogether and do something completely different. Persistence means that you will come back to helping yourself achieve that final goal. However that looks. Now that's hard. So we will talk about all things follow through and task management and task initiation. So I want you to stay tuned. And if there's a topic that you'd like to hear about, let me know down below. And that is all for today. And if you want to be a guest on this podcast, that's something that I would love to have. I'm always up for interviewing guests because hey, we learn from each other, we learn so much. And if you are interested, you can send me an inquiry at [email protected]. Again, that's in the show notes as well. See you in the next episode.
