Oh hai, friend!
**That was not a typo - HAI!

Hey There ADHD Sister,

I see you.

You’ve got incredible artistic talents, a love for life, and empathy for every person you know. You live for finding new sparks of possibility, helping others and making people smile. It’s your fuel.

And it’s obvious to everyone around you, you have a sensationally attractive energy.

But sticking to timelines, organizing your spaces, and managing your emotions just isn’t working.

In fact, it’s a total gong show most of the time.

If your executive function were at the same level as your talents, you’d be ruling the world by now.

It’s no secret. But instead, your imposter syndrome comes in and life feels like…

  • Your ADHD is constantly causing you to fail.
  • You’re being pulled from the parts of life you deeply enjoy.
  • “People with ADHD just need to focus.” You’ve heard that a million times and you know it doesn’t work that way at all.
  • You try everything to conform and do things the way you “should” - You buy all the tools to accomplish tasks the way your non-ADHD peers do – but nothing works the way it’s “supposed” to.
  •  You see the people in your life holding up successful jobs, relationships, and finances; while you’re struggling to survive. You simply can’t figure out how on earth they aren’t exhausted all the time.

But you’re smart, you’re talented in more ways than you can count and you know you can be a success. So why does your ADHD feel so draining, uncomfortable, and like it’s always holding you back? There’s gotta be something massive that’s missing here.

Ah, yes. There certainly is.

Let me explain.

The reason your ADHD feels defeating is not because you're doing everything wrong. It's because you've been programmed by a society duped into destructive neuro-normative beliefs.

ADHD has been long described as a little boy who bounces off the walls and has endless energy. The research for the original diagnostic criteria was developed by studying young white cis-males. WTF.

They completely disregarded anything that didn’t fit that extremely limited criteria.

It was all about recognizing young boys who couldn’t stay still or focus, or were climbing trees.

It wasn’t until 2013 that the DSM more accurately denoted that ADHD affects adults, not just kids and teens.

The research on how ADHD presents across genders, ethnicities, and accounting for genetics is expanding greatly and finally considering the diagnosis and treatment in non-white non-cis-males.

In a nutshell, this is a large tribute to why you’ve been dismissed on your quest for an ADHD diagnosis and support.

GROSS.

This ends here.

There is no more…

  • Dismissing your cherished efforts.
  • Setting unrealistic expectations that don’t make sense.
  • Trying to conform to neuro-normative expectations that are completely out-dated.

The revolution of ADHD Coaching is allowing women to understand what ADHD is, how to advocate for their treatment, and take meaningful steps to build and create a beautifully purposeful life.

  1. Show up as you are.
  2. Connect with people you actually like.
  3. Let them know you’re there for support.

That can be hard AF because you’ve been masking for so long and we’re all in this belief of having to show up in the neurotypical ways we were taught.
