IEP Advocacy
Helping you take strategic steps to secure your child's school success.
For parents and guardians of children who are ADHD, Autistic, Dyslexic, Gifted, and those with Anxiety or School Refusal.
Elementary through Post-Secondary.
You've landed here because you've checked all the necessary boxes:

Psycho-educational assessment

Diagnosis

School required labels acquired
Yet you still feel lost because, as we well know, there isn't much guidance on what to do next.

Does this mean your child automatically gets an IEP?
Unfortunately, no.
Does this mean your child is legally entitled to an IEP?
Absolutely, YES.

Your child spends over 30 hours a week at school, ~1300 hours per year.
This gives the school environment the power to provide space for your child to absolutely thrive or completely plummet.
Advocating for strategic IEP development and pointed implementation will give your child that beautiful opportunity to thrive.
It powerfully shapes your child's entire present and future.
When an IEP helps your child thrive...
Learning
Meaningful accommodations allow your child to develop a positive relationship with learning & school.
Connections
A healthy connection to school allows your child to come home fulfilled, equipped to face challenges, and provides the landscape for an encouraged connection to their peers, family, and teachers.
Mental Health
Your child is more relaxed, happy, and engaged. They're able to manage anxieties with healthy strategies and targeted supports.
Life Success
Foundational needs are not only being met, but nourished for long term success.
School success goes far beyond the existence of an IEP document.
It critically depends on the diligent cooperation and collaboration of all stakeholders: teachers, educational assistants, learning support team, school admin, psychologist, physicians, therapists, caregivers, you, AND most importantly, your child.

At the core of it all is you, the consistent advocate for your incredible child.

Why this matters
I've been where you and your child are.
My passion for IEP Advocacy began during my college years when I first hand experienced the gaslighting from administration for my own accommodations.
As I entered the educational world, I quickly found myself on learning support teams, and leading a department toward inclusivity centred on individualized students needs and intentional implementation strategies.
Fast forward into motherhood and I was sitting on the other side of the table, fighting for my child as the system desperately tried to gaslight her needs.
Not only did I get her what she needed, I unintentionally became the point person by friends when they felt lost and gaslighted on their child's IEP journey.

School success is born from strategic advocacy, collaboration, and cooperation between all involved parties. And from that, success spreads into every aspect of life.
